The Residential Automatic Advantage
Why Automatic?
Here’s Why! Automatic customers do not have to worry about checking their tank to make sure they have plenty of fuel. Holtzman Propane uses the Degree Day System to calculate when a tank needs
fuel. This is based on weather conditions, how many appliances each account has, how much fuel each appliance is capable of using, and past usage. Our goal is to fill a tank when it is between 20 & 30%.
No Additional Charge! Our computer will print an automatic ticket for a tank when the tank needs to be filled. We encourage automatic customers to have their tanks filled when drivers arrive in order to keep their degree-day calculations as accurate as possible.
On Call Delivery! Holtzman Propane always has a driver who is on call year round if you find yourself out of fuel. Our answering service will contact the driver who is on call and the driver will call you. We take all out-of-gas situations very seriously and an in-house investigation is done to determine the reason. The on-call driver will fill your tank, perform a leak test, and then re-light your appliances.
No After Hours Fee! Should an automatic customer run out of fuel there are no after hours delivery fees and our drivers will respond promptly. A leak test will be performed and the driver will
relight your appliances
5¢ Off Per Gallon All current automatic customers will be given 5¢ off per gallon starting October 1, 2004. All new Automatic customers will receive their first fill at regular price and 5¢ off per gallon with each following delivery for as long as you remain on automatic and your account is in good standing.
5% Off Any New Appliance Purchase for as long as you remain an automatic customer and your account is in good standing.
**Residential Automatic Advantage Program Is Subject To Credit Approval
Holtzman Propane uses a degree day system to monitor weather conditions, so we can make timely deliveries to our automatic customers, to avoid any possible run outs. However, there may be instances due to bad
weather conditions or various unforeseen factors where a run out may occur. Some factors that may alter your delivery schedule include, the installation of another appliance without notifying our office of the additional appliance, setting
the thermostat higher or lower than normal, etc. The key to making any automatic service work is based on consistent usage by the customer.
However, if for any reason you should experience a run out, you may call our office and we will respond promptly. If this should happen after hours or on a weekend or holiday, we have an answering service that
will dispatch a delivery driver. We have on call drivers available 24hours per day 7 days a week. There will be no service charge for any necessary after hours deliveries. The driver may call you before coming to your home. The driver will
fill your tank, perform a leak test, and relight your appliances. We take any out of gas situations seriously and work towards a solution that will prevent it in the future. You may also be contacted by a customer service associate for any
additional information we may need in conducting an in house out of gas investigation.
Will - Call
Will - Call customers may feel more comfortable keeping an eye on their own gauge and we respect that. However, if we are not keeping track of your fuel use then we are not able to keep you from running out. Will - Call customers pay regular price per gallon and are not eligible to receive a 5% discount on any new appliance purchase.
Three Business Days are required to process delivery requests because driver routes are planned in advance. You must order a minimum of 100 gallons or a full fill if your tank does not hold 100 gallons.
If you are a Will-Call customer and require same day delivery, you may be charged a $75.00 fee if the driver is not in your area or if your system requires a pressure test. By law a driver must
perform a leak test on any system that has completely run out of fuel where there is no pressure left in the tank. A $60.00 service charge will be applied if the driver has to perform a leak test due to the time involved.
However, a customer will not be charged for both a leak test and a service charge at the same time.
If you require delivery after business hours, weekends, or holidays a $150.00 service charge will apply and the driver must completely fill the tank.
Changing Your Account Status
Delivery drivers are not able to change your account status. If you switch from Will-Call to Automatic or from Automatic to Will-Call you must contact our office. The only way your account status can be changed is with written authorization from you. This is done to protect you and your account. We have a form that can either be mailed or faxed to you that must be signed and returned. If we change your account for a billing reason you will be notified. You may call or stop by our offices in Strasburg, Mt.Jackson, or Luray to change your account status.
Hey! I don’t need a delivery right now.
If you refuse an automatic delivery then we will not be able to accurately update your auto fill calculation plus your account must be changed from Automatic to Will - Call. In this case we will not be able to ensure that you do not run out of fuel. Also, if you do not use your appliances in a consistent manner then your auto fill calculations may not be as accurate as possible.
Auto-fill works best when you leave your thermostat set at a constant temperature. If you frequently adjust your thermostat or your consumption changes, your auto-fill calculation may not be accurate. If you do find yourself
using more fuel than you normally do, give us a call and we can top off your tank when a driver is in the area.
Budget & Pre-Buy
We understand that some customers are concerned about receiving a large bill after a delivery so we offer two options for those customers. Pre-buy and Budget are available to our customers who are on automatic delivery and you
can contact our office for more information. Simply, pre-buy allows you to purchase your fuel during the summer when prices are low. Budget will enable you to pay a percentage of your bill each month. Please call for more information.
